What is a skiff?

A skiff is a type of small, flat-bottomed boat commonly used for fishing or transportation in shallow waters. Skiffs can be made out of a variety of materials, including wood, fiberglass, or plastic, and can range in size from around 10 feet to over 25 feet. Skiffs are often powered by outboard motors or rowing, and may be designed for use in specific bodies of water such as rivers or lakes. Due to their shallow draft and maneuverability, skiffs are popular for exploring rivers and marshes, as well as for fishing in inshore waters. Some companies also manufacture skiffs specifically for use in the sport of competitive rowing.
